    Care Before You Share

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology published a study showing that most people care about having truthful information on social media, but our attention might be focused on factors other than accuracy. Therefore, we need reminders to think about the accuracy of what we’re sharing. Although social media platforms could improve this in their design, we should also learn to prioritize accuracy over entertainment, trolling, or trying to prove a point by any means possible.

Take full responsibility for what you share. Make sure you have done your best to evaluate it. Even if you are aware that the content you shared is not true or if you republished it as a joke, someone else might not be aware or misunderstand the intent.

Keep in mind that it is important to pause before sharing. Think of your emotions and name them.

Help people around you be more mindful of content they share, but always be compassionate. Most people are not trying to cause harm.

Good luck in the final test!
